When setting up e-mail marketing, it is important to add an unsubscribe link that allows recipients to unsubscribe from the mailing. Read and see below how you can do this easily!
Before composing an e-mail, you should create a template to shape your e-mail. Have you not done this yet? Read here how to do it.
The unsubscribe link is added during the creation of your e-mail campaign. This link is compulsory. Whether you do this with a One-time or Automated mailing makes no difference.
Once you have clicked on Create under 'Marketing, e-mails' in your Business Dashboard, you will first be asked to add a template to your campaign.
At the next step, called 1. Content, you cannot proceed to the next step 2. Information, provided that you have added an unsubscribe link. This is done as follows:
1. Add a text box in your e-mail from the right-hand block 'Content' by dragging it into the e-mail
Tip: Where in the e-mail you want to add the unsubscribe link is up to you. However, the usual place is at the very bottom of the email
2. Click on the text area in the e-mail, a small menu follows in which you can adjust the text. At the bottom right is Personalise, click this and look for the unsubscribe link and select it
3. A hyperlink has now been added to your text box which directs recipients to the unsubscribe page. You can now proceed to the next step of setting up your e-mail
The link is automatically called Unsubscribe. Do you want to change the text? You can! Click on Insert/Edit Hyperlink in the same menu as in step 2. Then change the text under Link text.
In addition to customising the name of the unsubscribe link, you can also choose the desired text colour and whether clicking on the link will take you to a new page or whether it will appear on the current page.
