The different types of categories

Marketing

The marketing category is the one often used for emails with marketing purposes.  Think of a newsletter or an automated e-mail for retentions or to thank customers for their visit.

Read here how to send out a one-off campaign to (a selection of) your contacts.

Registration email

Customers can register as a contact on their first visit to your company or Contacts Portal. When they do so, they will receive an e-mail in which they can verify themselves by means of a login code. This is the registration email. It gives contacts instant access to the Contacts Portal environment after completing the registration.

Read how to edit and set up a registration e-mail for the registration page on the Contacts Portal here.

Login e-mail

The login e-mail is the e-mail sent to your contacts the moment they want to log in to the Contacts Portal. In this e-mail, it is essential to add a login code, because they will need it to log in.

You can edit this mail completely to suit your needs and house style. Check out this article for more information.

Gift voucher order confirmation

As the name of the category indicates, this e-mail is sent out when a digital gift card is purchased on your website via the Widget.

This e-mail contains a confirmation of the gift voucher purchase and does not contain the gift voucher itself, for which another e-mail is sent (see e-mail recipient gift voucher below).

Email recipient gift card

When you sell a digital gift card via the Widget, an e-mail is sent to the customer after purchase. So you select this category to create and edit that email.

The template for this e-mail and the e-mail itself are set as your default e-mail. This contains a QR code and the card number from the QR code itself anyway, but can be further personalised by you by following these steps.

Double opt-in confirmation

Your contacts can subscribe to (one of) your subscription types to receive certain email messages. The Double opt-in confirmation category allows you to create an email that allows contacts to subscribe to a subscription type that requires a double opt-in.

Not quite sure what this subscription type entails? Then click here. This article explains the different subscription types.

Feedback e-mail for subscription type

You can send an e-mail to your contact(s) when they sign up for a specific subscription type. You determine the content of this e-mail. Think of a thank you or confirmation of subscription.

Authentication via private form

A form helps with data collection and allows you to effectively gather information about your contacts. There are two types of forms, public and personal. A personal/private form requires verification via e-mail.

With this category, you set up an e-mail in which you give access to the private form by putting it as a link in the layout.
